Description
My entry for the eight day of Equestria Daily's Artist Training Grounds. The theme was "Draw a Pony trying something new," so I drew Twilight radically pushing her boundaries (it's happened to me, this is pretty serious stuff).
This is technically the first closeup I've drawn period, come to think of it. I must say, its alot easier to just draw from the neck up. Unfortunately, this didnt give me much of a chance to practice my stroke widths (my biggest challenge currently in Illustrator). Oh well, I'm happy with how this turned out - I was worried the concept wouldn't make sense.
Edit 1.2 - Changed the coefficients to be the same on left and right, in hopes of making the concept a bit more clear.

Okay, the subject of this drawing definitely cracked me up. I used to be one of those evil, evil people who use the rounded x which can be seen on the right side of that paper, but a few years back I saw the light and converted to the One True X, which, of course, has straight lines
Anyway, seeing how the Training Ground is completely useless for this kind of thing, let me come up with some constructive criticism for you.. As you can see here [link] , the muzzle and the neck don't actually form a single smooth line. The muzzle continues in a circular shape into the neck for a bit. So that's something you might wish to pay some extra attention to ^^
